Xiaomi has succeeded in earning huge profits by the sale of Mi 3, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note devices. The ever-growing demand of Xiaomi products made it the third biggest smartphone maker in India.
However, recent reports state that the company is working on its new Redmi 2S – the successor of Redmi 1S, which will have better features.
Tenaa, a Chinese website, has leaked out the images of Redmi 2S. The upcoming handset features a 4.7-inch display, offers around 8GB internal storage capacity and 8MP rear camera, similar to the Redmi 1S. According to media speculations, the company has introduced minor upgrades in the Redmi 2S device.
As per the leaked specifications of Redmi 2S on Tenaa, difference between the two devices are listed below:
- The Redmi 1S was powered by 1.6GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SOC processor. Whereas, the upcoming Redmi 2S will be powered by 1.2GHz quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.
- The successor of Redmi 1S will sport an upgraded version of the front-facing camera. i.e. Redmi 2S will sport a 2MP front camera as compared to a 1.6MP front camera on Redmi 1S.
- Redmi 1S runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. However the successor of Redmi 1S in 2015 wil likely run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
- Xiaomi Redmi 1S’ s 8GB onboard storage capacity could be expandable up to 64GB. But, the Redmi 2S users might just be allowed to expand the storage capacity up to 32GB via microSD card.
- Redni 2S will be fuelled with a 2,200mAh battery, which will offer a much longer battery life.
- Redmi 2S might be light in weight as compared to the Redmi 1S. i.e. Redmi 2S will weigh around 134 grams as compared to 158 grams Redmi 1S.
There has been no official announcement from Xiaomi as yet. However, media reports state that Redmi 2S will be available in colours like black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The Redmi 2S smartphone is speculated to launch in March 2015.
